Christine Spence Hammersmith's PledgePage
Wow. It's been a while since I've contributed to these pages, but finally here are some updates!
Leukemia research is considered the window to the treatment and cure for all cancers. Your contributions and support are so important! You can stop by this page anytime to catch up on how my torture, I mean, training is going (just check my diary) and of course any words of encouragement are always appreciated :) (sign my guestbook while you're here!) Did you know that every five minutes someone new learns that he/she has a blood related cancer. That's more than 300 a day. Every nine minutes another child or adult is expected to die. I will be thinking of them throughout my training and every step of the 26.2 miles I'll be running on June 21, 2003. If I'm lucky, I'll be mindful of them for the rest of my life. The Society has provided more than $280 million for research targeting blood-related cancers and thanks to these funds, several new drugs have been discovered that greatly increase cure rates and remission duration. Each passing day is one closer to finding a cure. Won't you join me on this journey? |
